Plant Patch :

The Thursday, Friday and Saturday preceding Mothers Day is made even more special when, St. Luke’s holds its major fund raiser for Outreach. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of hanging baskets, perennials, annuals, herbs and vegetable plants will ultimately be donated to charitable institutions.

Committing Time and talent…

Acolytes, Servers and Crucifers. They serve to enhance the drama and visual integrity of the liturgy by providing for procession and candlelight. They assist the priest at the altar in the work of table preparation.

Usher and greeter. These people serve by welcoming people to the Church service. They hand out bulletins, assist people to their seats, take up the collection, present the oblations (bread and wine), guide people to the altar to receive communion and after the service is completed gather up the used materials and put the church back in order.

Church School: Our littlest parishioners learn Bible stories during the 10am Sunday services while older children (grades 3-5) study the Bible, learn about prayer, the liturgy and the work of the church. Teachers use support material provided by the diocese to guide their work.

Choir. Music is an integral part of liturgy and belongs to the whole congregation. The choir serves to lead the congregation in their congregational singing and offers gifts of anthems that glorify God and raise the spirits of God’s people. The Adult Choir rehearses on Sunday at 8.45 am and the Junior Choir rehearses after the 10am service on the 3rd and 4th Sunday of the month. Harold Rosenbaum is the music director and organist.

Lector. These people serve by reading the assigned lessons at the service.

Hospitality Teams. Following the 10:00 a.m. Service we offer coffee and refreshments to our visitors and members. The Hospitality teams take one Sunday a year to be responsible for the set up and clean up of these fellowship times.

and Cooking with Spirit…

By purchasing a copy of our cookbook, you can help St. Luke’s in it’s outreach programs. This recently published recipe book with such tantalizing offerings such as Hot Crabmeat Sandwiches, Bacon Wrapped Pork in Vermouth Sauce can now be yours.
